About this collection
Men's merino wool clothing for British weather
Merino.tech makes men's base layers and everyday essentials from superfine 17.5-micron Australian merino wool. It keeps you warm on frosty mornings, cool when you are working hard and fresh for days, which is why merino is the go-to fabric for hillwalkers, skiers, cyclists and cold commuters.
Base layers and thermals
Start with a men's merino thermal set, or choose separate base layer tops and merino long johns. Pick 165gsm for active days and layering, 250gsm midweight for most of the UK winter and 320gsm heavyweight for deep cold and standing still.
Everyday merino
Our merino T-shirts, polo shirts, hoodies and boxers resist odour and creases, so they are ideal for travel, the gym and the office. Finish your kit with merino hiking socks and a beanie.
Every order over £49 ships free across the UK, and you have 30 days to return anything unworn.
FAQ
Men's Merino Wool Clothing FAQ
What is the best men's merino base layer for a UK winter?
A 250gsm midweight merino top and long johns suit most UK winter activities, from hillwalking in the Lake District to cold commutes and ski holidays. Choose 320gsm if you are static in the cold or always feel the cold, and 165gsm for running, cycling and other high-output sports.
Is merino wool better than a synthetic thermal?
For most people, yes. Merino keeps insulating when damp, regulates your temperature and resists odour, so you can wear it for several days. Synthetic thermals dry slightly faster and cost less, but they start to smell quickly and feel clammy when you stop moving.
Is merino wool itchy?
No. We use superfine 17.5-micron Australian merino, far finer than the wool in a traditional jumper, so it feels soft next to the skin. Most people who find ordinary wool scratchy can wear it all day.
How much is UK delivery?
Delivery is free on orders over £49. Orders placed before 12pm on a business day are dispatched the same day and standard UK delivery takes 3–4 business days. See Shipping & Delivery.
