Merino accessories

Warm, dry and stink-free

Merino where it matters most — socks, beanies, gaiters and underwear in a soft, durable blend. Breathable, naturally odour-resistant and comfortable for days on the trail.

THE FABRIC

Why merino wool

01Moisture wicking

Merino wool moves sweat away from your skin as vapour and lets it evaporate from the fabric, so you stay dry and comfortable whether you are hiking, commuting or skiing.

02Odour resistant

Merino fibres naturally resist the bacteria that cause odour, so you can wear a base layer for several days, on the trail or while travelling, and it still smells fresh.

03Insulates when wet

Wool can absorb up to 30% of its weight in moisture without feeling wet. In damp British weather it keeps insulating where cotton and polyester leave you cold.

04UV protection

Merino absorbs UV radiation: our lightweight layers offer UPF 25 and the midweight and heavyweight options UPF 50+, handy on long days in the hills.

05Flame resistant

Merino wool is naturally hard to ignite and self-extinguishes without melting onto the skin, unlike synthetic base layers.

06Renewable

Merino is a natural, renewable and biodegradable fibre. Sheep grow a new fleece every year, and a worn-out merino garment breaks down instead of shedding plastic microfibres.

FAQ

Merino socks, beanies & accessories: FAQ

What is this 190gsm boxers best for?

It is a light-midweight 190gsm merino layer, best for all-day comfort, travel and sport. Compare every weight in our merino weight guide.

Which sizes are in stock?

Available to order now: , M, L, XL. Our merino is true to size and designed to sit close to the skin; see the size guide for measurements.

Are merino wool socks good for walking boots?

Yes. Merino hiking socks cushion your feet, wick sweat and keep insulating when damp, which helps reduce the moisture that leads to blisters on long days in boots.

Do merino socks keep feet warm in winter?

Yes. Merino traps warm air even when your feet sweat, so it keeps toes warmer than cotton socks in cold, wet conditions.

What size merino socks should I buy?

Choose your size from the size guide. If you are between two sizes, pick the larger size for boots and the smaller one for trainers.

What is a merino neck gaiter used for?

A neck gaiter (snood) can be worn as a neck warmer, face cover, headband or beanie, so it replaces several accessories for cycling, skiing, running and walking the dog on cold mornings.

How do I wash merino socks, beanies and boxers?

Turn them inside out and machine wash at 30°C on a wool or delicate cycle, then air-dry. Avoid tumble drying and fabric softener to keep them soft and in shape.

🔵 Material:The wool fabric is on the thinner side, but that's actually a plus when it comes to base-layer underwear. Surprisingly, it's softer than I anticipated, especially compared to my other Merino wool shirts. This marks my inaugural journey into the world of Merino wool drawers, but here's the two-fold concept. You want warmth even when wet, and you want that wicking and quick evaporation action that wool is known for. If these were thicker, they might get too hot and scratchy.🔵 The Seams:Look plenty good to me and they are in all the right places. I would even say better than most providing support in areas where others have failed me before.🔵 Overall:For just $7.99 (as of 10/2023), you can't go wrong. I highly recommend.

The material is great at keeping you warm without getting too hot, but it seems they are not great for sleeping in if you do run hot or live somewhere hot. During the day they seem to be great and very comfortable. The medium seemed to be bigger than I would have expected for a medium, but the waistband didn't seem too big despite this. They're a spectacular base layer which seems to be their purpose. They also look great on.I appreciated the care instructions for them, although initially found it confusing whether you could or couldn't wash them on a gentle cycle (I think you can).

Well made socks! These have a lot of pros but not real cons to speak of:- Light weight; not too bulky- Warm without getting hot and soggy- Wicks moisture well; I haven't had issues even after long hikes- Great fit. Flexible material- Good fabric quality and detailingOverall these have been some very solid socks and versatile. I'm wearing these now as the weather gets colder, but plan to sport these even as things warm up.

I like that these are primarily wool as that works to keep feet warm and dry when hiking in colder temperatures. These fit well and should also wear well. The colour is a charcoal like shade and overall I would recommend them!

I agree that this sock is not priced well at $30. Although the wool content feels great, the weave is thinner. The leg portion isn’t thick. It is slightly thicker in the foot portion. I tried to show the weave difference in my pictures. They don’t seem like they will last that long. Maybe a year or two. Several if you don’t wear them so often. But for $7, I consider that a good deal. The large is definitely around a men’s size 13 shoe. I’m a size 8. They go half way up my calf and don’t stay up all day because they too big for me.If you are upwards of a size 10 in men’s and like wool socks, I’d recommend them at $7.

No annoying bunching or chafing. These are awesome. Fits exactly as expected despite being more athletic with larger thighs. It just naturally stretches where needed.
