What is lightweight 165gsm merino best for?

Spring and summer, high-output sports such as running, cycling and fast hillwalking, hot-weather travel, and as a thin next-to-skin layer under warmer layers in winter.

Is 165gsm merino warm enough for winter?

On its own it is best for mild days. In winter, wear it as a base layer under a fleece or 250gsm top when you are working hard, or choose 250gsm or 320gsm for colder, slower days. Compare them in the weight guide.

Does lightweight merino dry quickly?

It dries much faster than heavier wool and stays comfortable while damp, which makes it ideal for sweaty activities and washing in a hotel sink.
