Lightweight, compact, and easy to carry, these socks also offer stretch for a secure fit, UV protection for sunny exposures, and anti-static benefits. Crafted with sustainable fibres, they’re built for long-lasting adventures.

Warm, dry and stink-free

Merino where it matters most — socks, beanies, gaiters and underwear in a soft, durable blend. Breathable, naturally odour-resistant and comfortable for days on the trail.

THE FABRIC

Why merino wool

01Moisture wicking

Merino wool moves sweat away from your skin as vapour and lets it evaporate from the fabric, so you stay dry and comfortable whether you are hiking, commuting or skiing.

02Odour resistant

Merino fibres naturally resist the bacteria that cause odour, so you can wear a base layer for several days, on the trail or while travelling, and it still smells fresh.

03Insulates when wet

Wool can absorb up to 30% of its weight in moisture without feeling wet. In damp British weather it keeps insulating where cotton and polyester leave you cold.

04UV protection

Merino absorbs UV radiation: our lightweight layers offer UPF 25 and the midweight and heavyweight options UPF 50+, handy on long days in the hills.

05Flame resistant

Merino wool is naturally hard to ignite and self-extinguishes without melting onto the skin, unlike synthetic base layers.

06Renewable

Merino is a natural, renewable and biodegradable fibre. Sheep grow a new fleece every year, and a worn-out merino garment breaks down instead of shedding plastic microfibres.

FAQ

Merino socks, beanies & accessories: FAQ

What is this walking & hiking socks best for?

It is made for walking boots, hillwalking and everyday wear. Like all our merino, it stays warm when damp and resists odour, so you can wear it for longer between washes.

Which sizes are in stock?

Available to order now: , M, L, XL. Our merino is true to size and designed to sit close to the skin; see the size guide for measurements.

Are merino wool socks good for walking boots?

Yes. Merino hiking socks cushion your feet, wick sweat and keep insulating when damp, which helps reduce the moisture that leads to blisters on long days in boots.

Do merino socks keep feet warm in winter?

Yes. Merino traps warm air even when your feet sweat, so it keeps toes warmer than cotton socks in cold, wet conditions.

What size merino socks should I buy?

Choose your size from the size guide. If you are between two sizes, pick the larger size for boots and the smaller one for trainers.

What is a merino neck gaiter used for?

A neck gaiter (snood) can be worn as a neck warmer, face cover, headband or beanie, so it replaces several accessories for cycling, skiing, running and walking the dog on cold mornings.

How do I wash merino socks, beanies and boxers?

Turn them inside out and machine wash at 30°C on a wool or delicate cycle, then air-dry. Avoid tumble drying and fabric softener to keep them soft and in shape.

These are the softest of all the warmest socks I've ever tried. Wool is always the material I need to keep my feet warm, and this is now the softest pair of wool socks I have. Feels like cotton. Fits well.

These are good, quality socks that would typically sell for around twenty US dollars. Good cushion at the toes and heels. Compression around the arch, breathable air holes prevent overheating. The merino wool also helps with moisture wicking and keeps your feet dry and comfortable. Great hiking socks.

These socks come to the mid-calf. They fit well and don't slip down. The toe seam fits flat on the toes and is comfortable. They provide good support and are warm. Made of of merino wool, these are great for hiking boots.

The quality shows in lots of ways, but we particularly like the stretch gathers in 3 places: at the top, around the ankle and around the foot (see photos). The wool material is thick enough to be warm in cold weather, but not bulky. The added stretch nylon and spandex will keep it from losing it's shape and slipping around on your foot. And when you put them on, they're just really really comfortable - makes you want to say Ahhhhhh.

I wear a ladies size 9 shoe and I ordered these socks in a size large. I'm so glad I did, because they run small. I have a slender foot, thin ankles and calves, and the size large fit me perfectly. These socks appear to be very well made and I am extremely happy with them. The price is great for a sock with such a high percentage of merino wool.

Perfect for the chilly part of autumn and ankle boots, the merino blend means the warmth I want without the irritation and itch I get from other wool blends. For those in the snowy northern climates, note that these are definitely not winter weight socks, but could definitely be worn under thicker wooly socks for those why-do-I-live-where-the-air-hurts-my-face-subzero days. I like that these socks are designed to fit snugly and not slide around or bunch up near my toes. If you have extra thick calves, they might be uncomfortably tight but for a tall woman with an average build and size 9 shoe, these socks are definitely a winner.

Got a pair of these free when I bought the brand’s wool shirt and they quickly became my favourite for running AND casual wear. No signs of failure yet but I want to wear these everyday So I bought four more pair.

I got a free pair when buying another item. I was looking for socks to sleep in and I’ve been using them for that, but also as a backup to my (darn tough and smartwool socks). They are medium weight full cushion, fit well (I’m a size 11) and I plan to take them with me on my AT thru-hike this year.I’ll update in a few months as to what I think of them

These are very nice - a good feeling wool sock. The sock is not a very thick sock, more a medium weight, and is warm. There is elastic ribbing around the arch, ankle and top to help keep the sock in place.I'm a women's size 9 1/2 w. I got the XL, and it is slightly too long in the foot. That's ok for me, as I usually wear open back shoes. For me, the sock height hit the middle of my calf, which is uncomfortable. The sock height from the heel to the top of the sock is about 9 1/2". (FYI). I ended up sliding the sock down to my ankle, but now know I'd be better off ordering an ankle sock.Good sock, fit not quite what I need.
